Top 7 Basic Keyboard Shortcuts on MacBook Pro: Text Formatting

Hi everyone! Today I am going to tell you the Top 7 Basic Keyboard Shortcuts for Text Formatting when you are using your desktop or laptop computer. Let's say you need to Underline  something in your paragraph but your mouse was broken/gone. If that is happening and you need help, read this article to know how to fix that problem and more.

1. Bold.  There are two ways to bold a text.

⌘ + B

• Press Command + B
• The first way is to select the text using your Shift and arrow keys together, and then to bold press Command and B together.
• Another way to bold a text is to first press Command + B together and then type the text.

         2. Italic. The Italic button gives you the ability to make letters slanted.

⌘ + i

• Press Command + I
• You can use it to identify the title of a book, for example. You can convert a text to italic by selecting the text using your Shift and arrow keys together, and then press Command + I together.
• Like the bolding tip, you can also first type Command + I together and then type the text you want in italics.

         3. Underline. To underline you can use the same pattern as above, except this time using Command + U. Go ahead and try it out right now!

         4. Strikethrough. If want to cross things out? Strikethrough has the ability to do that. To do it press Command+Shift+X.

• Press Command+Shift+X.

         5. Superscript. Superscript can raise stuff to exponents, like X2. To do it use the keys Command and . (yes, a period).

• Press Command and .

6. Subscript.   Want to shrink? Subscript can! To do it use Command+,(and yes that’s a comma).

⌘ + ,

• Press Command+,

  7. Clear formatting. You can undo formatting in one of two ways. The first way is with Command + \. The second way is with Command and Space.

• Press Command + \

⌘ + Space

• Press Command + \
